It all began because I love making anything homemade!

(well almost anything….)

Back in 2001, living in a small rural community in Northern California, I learned how to make soap from my neighbor by using tallow (grass fed beef fat). I loved it and quickly learned the art of soap making by cutting up and rendering down the beef fat to make a beautiful white tallow - the main ingredient of my 3 ingredient soap. It was a beautiful process - mixing the water, lye and tallow together, while waiting for the natural process of saponification to take place. It gave me such satisfaction - watching the process, pouring it into the mold and then letting it harden to cut into bars of soap.

In 2005, we moved to Redding, California and I began making soap with olive oil and selling it in a few stores, along with local events like the Palo Cedro Honey Bee and the Manton Apple Festivals. My customer base grew and so a website was designed as I continued to do more local events and added other homemade skin care products.

In 2022, the opportunity arose to purchase another soap business. I merged both soap worlds, gave the soap business a new branding, and learned how to wear all of the hats of owning a business. Two years later, I am so thankful I purchased Clear Creek Soap Co. It was one of my best decision ever-following my dream, my heart.

Clear Creek Soap Co. is a home-based business that makes products in small batches, packaging each one to sell to you on our website, the local Farmers Market, or stores in Redding and the surrounding areas. As of today, I have made over 17,000 bars of soap along with thousands of lip balms - all from my kitchen. Some of my other products are solid lotion bars, natural deodorants, natural face cream (amazing stuff), whipped tallow balm (also amazing), magnesium rubs, arnica sprays, loofah soaps, muscle rubs, shaving soaps, beard balms, diaper creams, cuticle balms, face masks and laundry soap. Like I said, I like making homemade. (Even my toothpaste is homemade).

I have been making soap for over 20 years now. The olive oil and many of our other ingredients, as available, are sourced locally. Our shaving soaps, lip balms, lotion bars, magnesium, and arnica products are all made with ingredients to nourish and hydrate your skin.

I am an entrepreneur and a homemaker at heart and I believe that being natural is best. I started making my own natural skin care because I had eczema and wanted to get away from synthetic cleaners and products. At Clear Creek Soap, you can understand each ingredient that we place on the label. It is kept simple and I believe that is the best!

As the owner of a small business, I want to show my children and grandchildren the core values of kindness, generosity, respect, and running a business that benefits the customer as well as my family. I also want to be a part in helping shape our local economy so that everyone in the community can prosper and know happiness.

Living simple and natural with God at the center are my core values. My husband and I have been married for 32 years, we have 4 beautiful grown children, 5 grandchildren and one on the way!

We have worked on cattle ranches for over 15 years and know the importance of good quality food. We grow a garden with beets, carrots, potatoes, beans, and many other vegetables and flowers. We raise our own chickens for meat and fresh eggs. I love making bread, granola, blackberry jam (from the berries down by the creek), kombucha, and herbal tinctures.

Thank you for supporting Clear Creek Soap. I am proud to call it mine and it makes my heart happy to provide quality products my customers love.

Enjoy!
